This was by far the worst day of her life...and that was saying something.
Shaking like a leaf the eleven year old girl from the bad neighborhood of New York was suddenly wishing she'd stayed in her crummy apartment waiting for the end of the world like her mother rather then running away. Why did she always have to run?
And now as she was locked in a starring contest with three large grimy looking animals, she couldn't get her legs to do more then shuffle.
With a strangled whimper and her wide eyes locked on the creatures in case they chose to move Sandy inched towards the door, only to trip over a chair and come crashing to the ground with a panicked yelp!
After a rather bracing and horrified flight through the upper levels Sandy found herself lost once again, catching her breath in an area with adorable plush toys on the shelves. She would find them more appealing if some of them didn't look like the rabbit that had just tried to kill her.
Only by ducking behind some other sap too slow to get out of the way did she avoid a gruesome death and while the guilt of it was eating away at her like poison in her gut she wasn't about to lay down her life for a stranger.
Still shaking she slipped behind the counter to get a closer look at the plush dolls, not noticing the answering machine light nearby, or the box behind her with no lid on it.
