FAZBEAR'S FRIGHT: TEST DRIVE

Welcome to Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction! Interested in the game but not sure if your character would fit in the setting? Then this meme is for you! Hell, bring in anyone you want, even if you don't plan on applying. Everybody's thought at some point what they would do in frightening situations - they just happen to involve murderous robots in this case. When making a top level with your character, make sure to include their full name and canon in the subject line, and whether they are original canon or AU or what have you. Keep the setting in mind for writing prompts, and have fun!

*Well that was just great. The one person here he knows doesn't know him. Damned alternate timelines.
But, at least, this guy should still be helpful. If the Garrus he knew was capable, then other versions of him must be too, right? Man, he hopes so.*

[He stops. There's another sound. Creaking. Quickly, he lowers his voice.]

Have you taken notice of the games here?

*The games? Of course he's taken notice of the games. But he hasn't actually done anything with them, since he's not sure they won't just eat him like everything else here.
Sollux lowers his voice to match.*

[Here's to hoping the sound doesn't come closer. Garrus' left hand tightens around the flashlight, his right around his mask, just in case.]

Well, I'm not one to play those kind of games on a regular basis, but I saw one of the other teams doing so and something about the audio made me decide to try my hand at one of them. It sounded like words being spoken, spelled out, on the other games...

[He pauses, looking away at this. The game was...uncomfortable to play.]

I...didn't get one that actually had spoken audio.

*Sollux tenses, just in case. His experiences with the bots were inconsistent, sometimes they'd try to attack (or play? he just assumed every movement towards him was aggressive), sometimes they would ignore him. But it was best not to let his guard down.*

And you think that might be helpful to us? I can get anything you need from them, but I might need a look out.

[The movement is going further away, it seems. Garrus brings his tone back up, though he's still looking in the direction of the noise, and his hands don't move from where he has them.]

It might be. Given the subject matter...

Think about it. We know the robots will kill most of us on sight. We also know they're malfunctioning in some manner. But we haven't had much time to stop and ask why they're doing it. Why they malfunctioned to begin with. And it sure is coincidental that the games on those consoles depict...what they depict.

[His eyes narrow.]

I can keep watch. Still, I'll warn you. They're primitive games, but the content is clear enough.

[Not that he thinks the kid can't handle violence in a normal video game. But what he played and the other ones he spotted others playing were anything but normal.]

They don't, though. Half the time they just ignore me, I don't know what to make of it.

*He's not a kid so clearly its not cause this place is made for kids. It must be something else B|*

Good, I'll see what I can find in them, then.

*He takes a couple moments to make sure the area is clear before starting, carefully, towards where he last saw an arcade.*

They ignore you?

[He follows, keeping behind Sollux, bending low and holding his flashlight and mask as he would any of his gear back home. Old habits die hard. Even when it causes the stench in his mask to waft up to his nose.

...Have you noticed if there's a pattern to the ones that ignore you?

They don't always ignore me. But the ones in this section--the ones that weren't in the first area, however many floors that was--are the most likely to just pass me by. The other ones might but they might also attack, I usually don't give them a chance to get close.

*Sollux has a flashlight, which he has in a hand so it can be flicked on easily but doesn't seem to be too concerned about it. He doesn't have a mask, though. He abandoned that awhile ago.*

The ones that didn't first appear in the upper floors...so the newer-looking ones don't even bother you.

[His eyes narrow at this. He thinks back to the game.]

There has to be a reason for that. And I'm not liking what's coming to mind.

They do sometimes, but not always.

*They proably just want to play! But Sollux doesn't know that and isn't taking any chances.
He frowns.*

One of those things? No, I don't think so. Its been pretty quiet...*but that was never a good sign. Crap.* ...we should move quickly.
