FAZBEAR'S FRIGHT: TEST DRIVE | ||||
Welcome to Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction! Interested in the game but not sure if your character would fit in the setting? Then this meme is for you! Hell, bring in anyone you want, even if you don't plan on applying. Everybody's thought at some point what they would do in frightening situations - they just happen to involve murderous robots in this case. When making a top level with your character, make sure to include their full name and canon in the subject line, and whether they are original canon or AU or what have you. Keep the setting in mind for writing prompts, and have fun! |
Garrus Vakarian | Mass Effect | Original
[Just when he thought he had seen it all. After everything that's happened, after a war that quite literally changed everything, and after losing many that he cared for...he's here. He doesn't even know how this place can possibly exist, given where he'd just come from.
In any case. This is awkward.]
Ok, so.
[So...what?]
I'm not, uh, good with rousing speeches. Just to warn you all upfront. And, well, this situation, I know, looks pretty bad, what with the killing machines targeting us, and...given...recent history...hmm.
[So many blank and confused stares Seriously, how...did she make this look so easy when she did it? He rubs his chin, slightly frustrated.]
You know what, forget the rousing speech. I have no idea how or why, but we're in a death trap with little in the way of protection and we're going to die if we don't work together. So if our teams are going to get out of here we're going to need to assess what we can and can't do as individuals. So.
You go first.
Area Three
[Exit. Exit. Exit. Exit.
How many exit signs had been plastered around this place? It's making navigation impossible - not that it wasn't difficult to begin with - and it's making Garrus a little grumpy. Or maybe it was the stench. Death doesn't even describe the smell. Or the rooms. Or the...the everything.
Its getting to him, more and more, and he isn't liking it.
After meandering further for who knows how long, Garrus suddenly stops and looks around.]
Do you hear something?
Area Three
not-exitroom upon hearing someone's voice, taking half a moment to pinpoint where it came from.*Garrus!
*Oh thank cod, someone CAPABLE was here! He manages to keep his voice down to a whispered shout, though it should be easy enough to hear the relief in it. He quickly looks around before heading over to the Turain.*
Please tell me Shepard is here too. Or at least that you found something useful, all I can find are idiots and useless robots.
*Well, useless except for the fact that they're very good at killing things.*
no subject
[Wait, what. Huh?
...
Clearly he's missing something. He doesn't quite recall a race of horned grey humans in his galaxy. And, as much as he tries to hide it, Garrus' confusion is palpable.]
Hi?
no subject
*Sollus raises an eyebrow and then deadpans.*
Sollux. I'm Sollux.
*You should totally know this, wtf*
no subject
[This kid is acting like...
Oh. Damn. He lets out a breath through his snout.]
Look, I...hate to break it to you, but I've never met you before. At least I don't recall ever meeting you. You're going to have to remind me how you know me outside of this place.
no subject
*Well that was just great. The one person here he knows doesn't know him. Damned alternate timelines.
But, at least, this guy should still be helpful. If the Garrus he knew was capable, then other versions of him must be too, right? Man, he hopes so.*
Whatever. It doesn't matter. We still need to get out of this, anyway, so that's what's important.
no subject
[He stops. There's another sound. Creaking. Quickly, he lowers his voice.]
Have you taken notice of the games here?
no subject
Sollux lowers his voice to match.*
...what about them?
no subject
Well, I'm not one to play those kind of games on a regular basis, but I saw one of the other teams doing so and something about the audio made me decide to try my hand at one of them. It sounded like words being spoken, spelled out, on the other games...
[He pauses, looking away at this. The game was...uncomfortable to play.]
I...didn't get one that actually had spoken audio.
no subject
And you think that might be helpful to us? I can get anything you need from them, but I might need a look out.
no subject
It might be. Given the subject matter...
Think about it. We know the robots will kill most of us on sight. We also know they're malfunctioning in some manner. But we haven't had much time to stop and ask why they're doing it. Why they malfunctioned to begin with. And it sure is coincidental that the games on those consoles depict...what they depict.
[His eyes narrow.]
I can keep watch. Still, I'll warn you. They're primitive games, but the content is clear enough.
[Not that he thinks the kid can't handle violence in a normal video game. But what he played and the other ones he spotted others playing were anything but normal.]
no subject
*He's not a kid so clearly its not cause this place is made for kids. It must be something else B|*
Good, I'll see what I can find in them, then.
*He takes a couple moments to make sure the area is clear before starting, carefully, towards where he last saw an arcade.*

animatronic soon y/n/wtfu?
Area One
[Want to know what many can do? They can float! Like so! And they can give off that nice, green glow! And...not a whole lot else that's flashy, thanks to whatever was holding him back.]
no subject
What else can you do?
[Please say you don't just float and glow.]
no subject
[Which is why he's not worried about his current situation. He didn't need his telekinesis to beat someone to a pulp, after all.]
One set of ME spoilers below?
[Though who is Garrus to talk, all things considered. Then again, he's not actively trying to be creepy or "malfunctioning".
Actually, that raises a good question. Can he even malfunction due to his current state? Or would it only be part-malfunctioning...or micro-malfunctioning because part-robot DNA?
Eh, moving on.]
Just make sure not to provoke a fight unless its necessary, or until we figure out what those things are fully capable of doing to us.
Eh, it's my own fault for dragging my feet on finishing ME.
[Even if the...creature...was talking sense, he wasn't about to follow just anyone's orders, especially since no one here seemed to have any idea what was going on.]
no subject
I'm a soldier, more or less. Currently...inactive.
[Frown. Man, even now, peace makes things so weird and he never thought he'd ever not be fighting in come capacity.]
I'm at a small disadvantage without my weapons, but I can still hold my own.
no subject
[The concept of peace was completely foreign to him. There was always war, always combat, always some conflict somewhere. So,, there was always a need for soldiers.]
You have no weapons?
no subject
[Its not a bad concept! Its just a new one for him, too.]
My weapons were somehow taken from me when I got here. A bit annoying, I have to admit, I spent hours making sure they worked properly.
no subject
[He pities the creature. To be unable to fight was unthinkable.]
We, too, have been disarmed. It will make little difference when we find the one responsible for this.
no subject
Oh no, nothing like that.
[Well, he was injured at varying times, but it was nothing that actually disabled him. You know, being shot at, Reapers destroying things, and explosions next to his face. NBD. He got better.]
The conflict's over and there's peace. No one's fighting, right now.
[Also, yes. If they so much as breathed wrong on his sniper rifle...]
What was your weapon specialty?
(no subject)
The Office
[ Kasumi gets an A+ for her response. Garrus's speech, not so much. But hey, Shepard set a pretty high bar for that sort of thing. ]
I'll be honest with you. [ Like she always has been! ] With all our tech and weapons gone, sneaking really is all about I can do.
Re: The Office
Still, always good to see a familiar face, if that ghost of a smirk that plays on Garrus' face is an indication.]
You getting sucked into this is certainly a surprise. Still, can't say I'm not glad to have you on the team this time. We're going to need all the stealth we can get.
Area Three
[They were so close. All they needed at this point was to find a damn exit. but this place...WHO THE HELL PUTS UP THESE MANY BLANK EXITS!? Doesn't that violate building codes or something?
She sighs, and slips into a darker area of the room. Whatever was here, it was close, and she didn't want to die just yet.]
Only one thing could make a sound like that. The real question right now is "where is it"?
